Approximately twenty-five thousand residences in south-east Queensland were left lacking electricity on the start of the week after powerful weather events swept through the state, bringing strong winds topping over 100 km/h.

Emergency response teams handled 598 calls for help across the area, mainly for building damage but also for fallen timber and inundation.
